SAN FRANCISCO YOUNG DEMOCRATS ENDORSE COUNCILWOMAN JANICE HAHN FOR LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR
Los Angeles - San Francisco Young Democrats over the weekend voted to support Los Angeles City Councilwoman Janice Hahn's bid to become California's next lieutenant governor.
"Janice Hahn took the time to come to San Francisco and address our concerns. She did not disappoint." said Maxwell Szabo, President of SFYD. "She addressed issues that resonate with young people, including college fee increases, the environment and healthcare."
"Young Democrats run my Council office and my campaign, and it is great that the San Francisco Young Democrats are my very first endorsement from any party organization" Hahn said. "Young Democrats are often the margin of victory in close primary elections, and I plan on working hard to get all young Democratic voters across California to support my candidacy."
The San Francisco Young Democrats on Saturday hosted a candidate forum in San Francisco for all the statewide constitutional offices. Subsequently, the group voted to endorse Hahn; under club rules, a candidate must receive at least 60 percent in order to receive an endorsement.
Hahn also has been endorsed in the Democratic primary by the California Federation of Teachers, California Professional Firefighters, National Women's Political Caucus of California, Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC), Los Angeles City Fire Department Chief Officers Association, Los Angeles County Professional Peace Officers Association, Los Angeles Airport Police and Southern California Pipe Trades District Council 16, among others.
