BAY AREA ASSEMBLYWOMAN ENDORSES JANICE HAHN FOR LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR
Los Angeles - Assemblywoman Joan Buchanan has announced her support of Los Angeles City Councilwoman Janice Hahn in her bid for lieutenant governor.
"Janice Hahn is a courageous fighter for the working men and women of our state, protecting the environment, education, and equal rights for all," said Buchanan. "From day one I have been impressed with Janice's strength to take on the big fights, and that is exactly the type of leadership we need up here".
"Joan Buchanan has been a strong leader for California and I am honored to receive her support." Hahn said. "Joan has been working to solve the budget crisis with creative ideas that protect our states critical services, and I will partner with Joan in Sacramento to help reform our state".
Buchanan, elected to the Assembly in 2008, represents the 15th Assembly district, located in Northern California, a partially "Bay Area district" and partially a "Valley district." It includes portions of Contra Costa, Alameda, Sacramento and San Joaquin counties.
Hahn also has been endorsed in the Democratic primary by the California Federation of Teachers, California Professional Firefighters, National Women's Political Caucus of California, Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC), Los Angeles City Fire Department Chief Officers Association, Los Angeles County Professional Peace Officers Association, Los Angeles Airport Police and Southern California Pipe Trades District Council 16, among others.
