NLL: Lumberjax Make Two Contracts Final

Portland LumberJax General Manager and Head Coach Derek Keenan announced that the team has signed forward Shawn Cable and defenseman Pat Jones to contracts. Cable a 25-year-old native of Calgary, Alberta enters his sixth season in the NLL and has totaled 78 points on 36 goals and 42 assists. Jones, an Oshawa, Ontario native has played three NLL seasons, has accumulated 322 faceoff wins, and has collected 120 loose balls.
Cable and Jones join forward Richard Morgan as the first players to sign with expansion club. All three played for Keenan in Anaheim last season.
Cable was Anaheim's second leading scorer and the NLL's twenty-ninth overall leading scorer in 2005 with 48 points (21 goals, 27 assists). The 6ft, 180lb forward also collected 68 loose balls last season.
Jones played in all 16 games for Keenan in 2005 and was the Anaheim’s go-to-guy in the faceoff circle. The six-foot-two, 195 pound defenseman took 419 of the Anaheim’s 447 face-off attempts. Jones also totaled six points (1G, 5A), and collected 64 loose balls in 2005.
