The flood of Federal laws and regulations exploded when the Supreme Court allowed the FDR white house to use the commerce clause to justify virtually any action it deemed necessary to control the nation's economy and economic policy. Rather than a protection against government over-reach the Commerce clause became the hammer to beat us into submission.
