Aztecs storm back from 17-3 down to stun Texas State 31-29 in their first Pac-12 game
San Diego State trailed by 14 at halftime Saturday at Snapdragon Stadium, then outscored the Bobcats 28-12 in the second half to snap a three-game losing streak.

SAN DIEGO: The San Diego State Aztecs rallied from 14 points down at halftime to beat Texas State 31-29 on Saturday night at Snapdragon Stadium, winning the inaugural Pac-12 football game for both programs and snapping a three-game losing streak.
The Bobcats led 17-3 at the break after scoring 10 in the first quarter and seven more in the second. The Aztecs answered with 28 points in the second half to Texas State's 12, turning a sweltering night at Snapdragon into the program's most dramatic win of the season.

A new conference, a first test
Saturday was the first Pac-12 game for both schools. San Diego State officially joined the conference on July 1, and Texas State came with it from the Sun Belt, making the opener a genuine milestone no matter the records the two teams carried in.
The win came a week after a mumps outbreak thinned the Aztec roster during the week and a 41-16 loss at Toledo dropped the team to 1-3. San Diego State entered the night on a three-game slide, with its season threatening to slip away in the first month of conference play.
What it changes
The comeback gives the Aztecs their first conference win and a measure of momentum as Pac-12 play begins in earnest. Texas State, which arrived in San Diego with one of the conference's most explosive offenses, leaves with a one-point loss in a game it controlled for a half.
