Comic-Con 2027 Returning Registration opens Saturday morning
The virtual waiting room opens at 7:30 a.m. and the badge sale starts at 9, and only fans who held a paid Comic-Con 2026 badge can take part. Everyone else waits for Open Registration on November 14.
DOWNTOWN: The first badges for Comic-Con 2027 are claimed on Saturday morning, October 17, when Returning Registration opens for fans who attended the 2026 convention. The convention itself runs July 22 to 25, 2027 at the San Diego Convention Center, with Preview Night on Wednesday, July 21.
The mechanics reward the early and the prepared. The virtual waiting room opens at 7:30 a.m. Pacific, and the sale begins at 9. Everyone in the waiting room when the sale starts is randomized into a queue, so joining at 7:31 carries no advantage over joining at 8:59, and fans selected from the queue get a 15 minute registration session. Comic-Con is explicit that getting into the waiting room does not guarantee a session.
Who can buy, and what it costs
Eligibility is narrow by design. Returning Registration is open only to people who purchased a Comic-Con 2026 attendee badge and did not receive a refund, along with eligible children who completed the child to junior validation process. First time attendees, professionals, press, exhibitors, volunteers, staff, and complimentary pass holders cannot take part. Each buyer can purchase badges for up to three eligible members including themselves, and needs each person's Member ID, last name, and desired days ready before the session starts. The whole order goes on one form of payment, and Comic-Con says payments are typically processed within 72 hours.
Adult badges for 2027 are priced at $67 for Preview Night, $88 each for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and $67 for Sunday. Juniors, meaning ages 13 to 17, and U.S. military members and seniors pay half price, and children 12 and under attend free with a paying adult. A $15 handling fee applies per member. Preview Night cannot be bought on its own; it is available only to buyers taking all four daily badges, and anyone who buys all four days has the set converted automatically into a 4-Day badge.
Fans who miss out, or who were never eligible, get their turn next month: Open Registration for the general public follows on Saturday, November 14. Until then, Saturday morning belongs to the returning crowd, laptops open, Member IDs lined up, waiting on the queue.
